(213) Jesus Appears to the Other Women

Matthew 28:9-10

[A]Now after Jesus had risen early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. [B]She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. [C]But when they heard that He was alive and that she had seen Him, they did not believe it.

[D]As they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshiped Him.

[E]Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”

[F]So Mary Magdalene, along with the other women, went and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.[1]

Matthew 28:9-10, KJV

9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. 10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

(213) Jesus Appears to the Other Women

Mark 16:9-11, KJV

9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

(213) Jesus Appears to the Other Women

John 20:18, KJV

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

(1) Mary probably told the women first, who would be more likely to be weeping than the men. They did not believe her, but they must have went with her to tell the men. She also may have told the women about Jesus telling her not to touch Him because He was going to ascend to heaven, and this is why they "held him by the feet."
